  • Loved the stories in this book. Great for everyone to read. Has fantastic messages for perseverance, standing up for yourself, etc. Would highly recommend for children. (I'm a librarian.)
  • I actually bought the book because there is a need for the topic to exist. But I am entirely shocked at how this book is nothing but a propaganda.

I am numb to see Barkha Dutt being represented as a hero, when there's evidence on how many instances she has compromised national security on television network. A hero?

Jay Lalitha may have been hugely popular but even though she was acquitted of the corruption charges, her co-accused were later found guilty. Jay Laitha's case could not be further pursued on account of her death, making her acquittal itself questionable. A hero?

It is proven that Teesta Setalvad used fabricated evidence against the case on 2002 Godhra riots. Her NGO is accused of fraud and fund embezzlement. A hero?

Medha Patkar is the one who opposed the death penalty for the terrorists involved in the Mumbai attack that killed 300+ innocent civilians. A hero?

The research is shallow and several portraits have been added as if they ran out of time. The book tries to 'hit hard while the iron is hot' with a popular topic, but fails to do justice to the actual cause of Indian women or the nation itself. The authors seems to have used her connections to further a group agenda to brain wash little girls.

If you truly wish to empower girls it is important to have a balanced view, unadulterated by political agenda, present undiluted facts.
